Simple Country Decorating Ideas

While your closet may be filled with western wear, the surest way to add a little country to your home is with a statement art piece. Hanging a western-style piece of art as a focal point in your living room or by your front door is sure to attract the attention of your guests. The Big Sky Carvers by Demdaco Windmill Clock will give your home the perfect modern country twist.

A simple way to add a little cozy country to your living room is to add throw blankets or decorative pillows. Since you probably spend a large amount of time in your living room, especially if you are entertaining, a western throw is an easy way to show off your country side. A Sheplers favorite is the HiEnd Accents Sierra Throw Blanket.

Make your guest bedroom a country haven with some western bedding. The bed is the focal point of the room so adding western bedding is the easiest way to give off that country vibe. You can go for some western bedding that really pops for something fun or a subtle print for a tranquil atmosphere.

Adding a little western and country flair to your home doesn’t require a lot of effort. Focus on big pieces to start and work your way to smaller details like little western knickknacks and country décor. Sheplers offers a variety of pieces to give your home the perfect western touch.

Refresh Your Kitchen with Western Décor

western decor for kitchen

Rustic, western decor has definitely taken over the decor scene in the last few years. In the past, this type of decor has not been on the forefront of ways to spruce up your home, but today it has become very unique and stylish. Western decor is great because it can be used throughout your entire house- even your kitchen! Sheplers, one of the best western stores online, has tips to help you refresh your kitchen with western decor.

The great thing about western decor is the charm that captures the warmth and style of the Old West. The colors that are involved in this type of decor are ones that are evocative of the desert with clear skies. This can be emulated through neutral colors and natural furniture that will make your home feel relaxing and inviting. Western decor can also be taken into your kitchen through a few easy steps.

If you have a bar, this is a great place to start when adding western decor to your kitchen. Bar stools are huge accents in your kitchen, and by utilizing them, you can add the perfect pop of western to your bar. Bar stools made of wood with dark leather and silver accents will give your kitchen the cowboy touch

Another way you can add western decor is through a chandelier or light fixture. If you are able to hang a chandelier, you can find a wagon wheel and hang that above your kitchen table. You can also replace other light fixtures with rustic lanterns. You can further improve your kitchen by adding a variety of textiles. This can be accomplished through covering the windows with western-inspired curtains and furnishing the seat cushions of your kitchen chairs with distressed leather. You can also add some stuff to the walls such as cowboy hats, horseshoes and spurs.

You can find all different types of western decorations from one of the best western stores online, Sheplers western wear.

Decorate your party before it’s even started with western-themed invitations! Invitations provide a preview for your party theme. Include all important details, especially if you wish for your guests to wear western style clothes as part of the party!

What more could you wish for from a summer BBQ than grilled corn on the cob? Big Sky Carvers has created novelty corn holders that look like shotgun shells! If shotgun shell corn holders don’t say spicy western BBQ, we don’t know what does!

No summer BBQ party is complete without a convenient bottle opener. No more asking everyone at the party if they have a bottle opener handy! Mount this horseshoe design cast iron bottle opener in an appropriate place so the drinkers at the party can open their bottles with ease.

If you want to spice things up at your BBQ literally, there’s nothing more country western feel than a salt and pepper shaker set in a filigree and saddle stitch holder with a painted cow skull on it. Aside from all the lovely western décor on the tables at your party, this simple piece is warm and inviting. Everyone gathered around the table will ask, pass the salt, please?

How to Decorate your Kitchen with Southern Charm

If you are about to move into a new home or you are simply renovating some rooms in your current home, you will need to think about the overall feel and theme you want when decorating. You don’t have to live in the South for southern charm and you can completely transform your home with western style and character. When it comes to your kitchen, there are many ways to incorporate a southwestern vibe and Sheplers Western Wear shares with you how to transform and decorate your kitchen with southern charm using these elements.

Neutral Color Pallet

The kitchen should be a comforting and warm space and luckily, this goes hand in hand with western style. We suggest that you go with neutral color tones for the cabinets in your kitchen such as whites and beiges. The walls should be neutral so that you can incorporate western elements with your kitchenware and appliances. Stray away from the more modern approach with granite counter tops and stick to either off-white or wood counters. The color pallet of the room can completely give off the overall feel and style.

Western Accessories

You can add a lot of western flair by incorporating small elements into your kitchen with dinnerware and other various kitchen appliances. Add a pop of color and character with this HiEnd Accents Savannah Turquoise Dinnerware Set from Sheplers. Turquoise accents in any room automatically adds western style and this is an easy way to quickly transform your kitchen. Another western kitchen accessory you can utilize is western printed table placemats. DIY mason jars make for great center pieces and add character and charm wherever you place them in your kitchen.

How to Throw a Cowboy Themed Kids Party

If your child’s birthday is coming up and you know that he or she appreciates and loves the outdoors, what better way to celebrate than with a cowboy and wild west themed birthday party with friends and family. Your little cowboy or cowgirl will have a blast hanging out at a ranch and participating in cowboy themed games and activities. Sheplers is here to share with you exactly how to throw an epic cowboy themed kids birthday party that will be sure to impress all who attend.

Decorations

Planning any themed kids’ birthday party comes with a lot of preparation and that starts with decoration ideas. You will need to get your hands-on table cloths and place settings and there are many fun and cute western ideas that will have your party stand out. You can incorporate bandanas on the tables to wrap the silver ware in and you can also add mason jars filled with flowers as the center pieces of each table. Depending on where your party is located, you can add barrels of hay to get that barn-like and ranch feel. Sheplers suggests adding Wanted posters around the party with pictures of the kids in attendance. You can also find inexpensive cowboy hats to give out as party favors when the children arrive.

Games and Activities

What’s a kids’ birthday party without some fun and games? There are so many western inspired games that all kids will love, and you can incorporate as many as you like depending on your budget. Lasso tosses, rodeo rides, and horseback riding are classic cowboy activities and you can utilize all of these at your party on a less intense level for kids. You can also set up an area for the classic game of pin the tail on the donkey, which kids will have a blast participating in.

Sheplers suggests looking for a party venue that gives off a rustic vibe such as an old ranch or somewhere outdoors with a lot of space. We also have a variety of western wall decorations that you can put up around the party. We hope these suggestions will help you plan your next cowboy themed kids’ birthday party!

Western Style Thanksgiving Decor

With November in full effect, the festive holiday of Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Great food, family, and football surround this joyous occasion and if you are looking for new ways to switch up the traditional decorations this year, look no further than the expertise from Sheplers western wear. A western style Thanksgiving is a fun and innovative way to bring together friends and family and celebrate all that we are grateful for.

Table Décor

For the best country theme, stray away from using traditional table cloths and use burlap or brown cloths for your set-up. Instead of using white napkins, you can use colorful bandanas as a fun replacement. Fill small mason jars with a selection of flowers for the main centerpieces. You can also use an old cowboy hat as a vase to put in the center of the table. Fill the table with straw to give off a barn vibe during dinner. You will be sure to impress your guests this holiday season with western décor filling your home.

Western Style Thanksgiving Decor

Instead of using classic dinner plates and fine china, you can use metal plates for a more rustic dinner. Don’t stress about exposing your fine china to potential damages this Thanksgiving and your guests will love the changes! To complete this western style Thanksgiving, we suggest you ask your guests to show up dressed in the best western apparel such as cowboy hats and cowboy boots.

We hope these home décor tips will be helpful for you to transform the typical Thanksgiving dinner into a unique and fun western holiday.

From the great outdoors to the Southern hospitality, places without roads and fences to front porch rocking chairs, there is a lot to love about the country. Sheplers, your one stop shop for all things western wear, has compiled a short list of things we love about the country. Great chances are you love these things just as much as we do.

The peace and quiet. Going from the city to the country is a big difference. When it’s quiet outside, you can hear all the peaceful noises of the country, like the bird chirping, the rain falling, the horses neighing, the roosters crowing, and the wind rustling the trees. Even more lovely is the sound of the crickets and other insects at sundown.

Your friendly neighbors. People out in the country tend to be close-knit. You know in the movies where a character knocks on their neighbor’s door? Sheplers western wear says it’s just like that.

The stars. From the lack of lights illuminating out of skyscrapers, you can thoroughly enjoy the night sky for all that it’s worth from here on earth.

The room for farming and gardening. Sheplers western wear agrees that the best meals are the ones that are made from love, out of ingredients straight from your own sources. You can’t grow a garden or raise livestock anywhere else, and that’s what we love about the country.
